Description

Artist:  DON CHERRY

   

Title:  “Complete Communion”

   

Label:  BLUE NOTE.  Catalog number is BLP 4226.  Label is blue/white with blue text.  Mono pressing on medium thick vinyl, without deep groove. 

 

Label address is “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC * NEW YORK USA” on both sides.  Has “R” registry symbol on the BLUE NOTE logo on the labels.  “VAN GELDER” is stamped in runout area on both sides. 

 

Jacket address is BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St, New York 23”

 

Year:  1966.

Condition: 

 

DISC:  Vinyl is nice VG++ with full original gloss.  Has been played a small number of times and handled with care.  There are a couple slight hairline paper scuffs but no serious marks or issues.  Plays beautifully with superb fidelity.  Labels are clean.  A very fine playing copy of a scarce gem. 

    

JACKET:  Jacket is in overall nice shape, with some noticeable signs of wear/handling.  Front is beginning to show a bit of ring wear and darkening along the top.  A few minor traces of wear along bottom seam are beginning to appear, and spine has a small chip of outer layer toward the bottom, but no splits.  Reverse has some ring wear and spots of darkening due to age.  No writing, stickers, cutout indications, or other issues.  Overall a decent jacket to accompany the lovely disc.

 

Includes original vintage “27 Years Blue Note 1939-1966” factory sleeve in nice condition.  No splits, has darkened slightly with age.
