During the 50's and early 60's, the UK RCA label released demo copies of their catalogue as single sided discs and it's increasingly hard to find an original pairing of both the 'A' and 'B' side together. Eventually released as catalogue # RCA 1200, we have on offer the following 1960 pairing from DON GIBSON;
DISC 1: "FAR FAR AWAY'" with Matrix # L2WW 0168 that remains in excellent plus condition and plays superbly throughout with just a light trace of crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and with light sleeve rubs. This copy has the solid centre and the label is very clean with minimal spindle wear and virtually no ring wear and with a small annotation in the form of the running time. The catalogue number has been applied by way of a rubber stamp (see picture scan 1).
DISC 2: "A LEGEND IN MY TIME" with Matrix # L2WW 0167 that remains in excellent plus condition and plays perfectly throughout with just a light trace of crackle on the lead-in and run-off groove and with light sleeve rubs. This copy has the soild centre and the label is very clean with minimal spindle wear and virtually no ring wear and with a small annotation in the form of the running time. The catalogue number has been applied by way of a rubber stamp (see picture scan 2).
Paired with an original company sleeve.
