The Don Rendell/Ian Carr Quintet – Phase III.
Rare original Stereo pressing. Lineup features Don Rendell on tenor/soprano sax/flute, Ian Carr on trumpet/flugel, Dave Green on bass, Michael Garrick on piano and Trevor Tomkin on drums.
Beautiful quintet session includes two compositions by Rendell (‘On!’ and Bath Sheba’) two by Carr (‘Crazy Jane’ and ’Les Neiges D’Antan’) and one from Garrick, a superb version of his ‘Black Marigolds’. Amazing sound throughtout and of course an essential addition to any serious collection. This copy is in stunning condition, the vinyl is extremely clean when viewed under a direct strong light. A rare opportunity to obtain such a great copy.

Vinyl is very clean with just a few slight hairline paper scuffs visible under direct strong light. Very minor, superficial only. The sound quality is superb throughout and playback is faultless, lovely warm sound with no problems at all. Very clean! Both labels are clean and show no spindle wear at all. I suspect the vinyl has only been played a few times at most. The unlaminated flipback jacket has some ringwear to front, mostly around the bottom edge which is usual for this album.Some minor wear to top/bottom seams. Spine is clean and complete with no creasing. Rear has minor discolouration. Corners show very minor wear only. Genuinely the finest copy I have seen, when this album does show up the unlaminated jacket usually shows heavier wear. I have graded the vinyl conservatively (vg+/vg+)
