DON SPENCER & The XL5 FIREBALL EP HMV 7EG 8802 & The XL5 - XL5 / CAVIARE HMV POP 1148
On auction is:
The DON SPENCER & The XL5 EP entitled FIREBALL and other titles released in the UK on HMV 7EG 8802 in 1963. The tracks are DON SPENCER - Fireball / I’m all alone:and The XL5 – XL5 (Zero G) / Caviare.
Also included in the auction is THE XL5 single on 45 of XL5 (ZeroG) / Caviare which was released on HMV POP 1148 in 1963. The reason this is included is because I kept them together… Because on the EP – there is a very noticeable scuff / surface mark across both the XL5 tracks that causes it stick OR sometimes play on with clicks…whereas the vinyl on the single is VG+ condition (with no such noticeable blemish) – SO by keeping the EP and the 45 together I had all 4 tracks in nice playing condition…
The condition of the EP is as follows:
The laminated picture sleeve is in nice EX condition with a great colour picture of XL5 in the skies above Earth – and [on the back cover] a great black and white picture of the Gerry Anderson FIREBALL puppets: Colonel Steve Zodiac, Venus and Professor ‘Matt’ Mattic. The (EP) disc has nice clean labels. The (EP) vinyl is in nice EX condition on the Don Spencer A side – but as mentioned has a surface/ scuff mark on the B side that causes it to stick (or sometimes play on with clicks).
The condition of the 45 is as follows:
The 45 is housed in its original HMV POP sleeve. The disc has nice clean labels. The vinyl is in VG+ condition .
The 45 sounds great on my BOSE stereo-hi fi AND the EP sounds great on the Don Spencer A side - but has the clicks on the XL5 B side.
