DONALD BYRD MEGA RARE 1956 LP ON TRANSITION
DONALD BYRD: BYRD BLOWS ON BEACON HILL – Mega Rare Original 1956 US Pressing, Flat Edge, Mono LP on Transition TRLP 17 with Black with Silver print label – This album comes with its original 10 page booklet with notes on the session, which is in excellent condition and adds value to the item. The lineup includes: Donald Byrd, trumpet; Ray Santisi, piano; Doug Watkins, bass; Jim Zitano, drums. As with the other Transition releases this is a live concert jazz made at Boston Brahmins, Beacon Hill. The Transition Label is a very rare, obscure, short-lived New York label which issued very few LPs with a very limited output. Nowadays, it is very hard to find Original transition records in any condition.
Cover condition: VG++ (some seam wear)
Record condition: VG (The grooved surface looks a bit grayish and has some light surface scuffing/hairlines. It plays Very Well all over, except for the last and small track on side A which plays with some groove noise).
