Description

Donald Byrd "Byrd In Hand" Blue Note/Music Matters/EMI Special Markets MMBST-84019
Super rare audiophile 45 rpm 2XLP 180G Stereo Limited edition. Each numbered (this one #0445 as shown) Music Matters Definitive Blue Note 2010
If you're not familiar with the Music Matters Definitive Blue Note Collection, here's a quick rundown: This was a project started in 2005, when Music Matters LTD Company sought to acquire rights from EMI (Blue Note's parent company) to do archival, extremely limited, audiophile presses at 45 RPM on 180G vinyl of 64 of the greatest Blue Note jazz LPs of all time. The 64 Lps were released individually in 2007, 2008, and 2009 and a few years beyond. There were titles released also that were not in the original catalog of 64. The presses were produced using the original analog master tapes to achieve the absolute highest fidelity possible and the artwork done from the original photo negatives. Each LP produced is individually numbered on the back of the gatefold jacket. Music Matters Team: Ron Rambach (Founder Of Music Matters, advisor to Atlantic Records, Verve etc), Joe Harley (VP Of Audioquest), Steve Hoffman (Mastering Engineer for Beach Boys, Doors etc), Kevin Gray (Grateful Dead, ELO, Donald Byrd etc.), Michael Cuscuna (Producer Columbia, Mowtown, Capital - Grammy Awards 1993, 2002)
We do have several Music Matters Definitive Blue Note Collection & Analogue Masters LPs in stock as well as some fantastic jazz/blues/rock/metal/etc. We purchased this set from a long time local audiophile couple along with the rest of their Blues/Jazz/Classical/Opera collection. At 70 years old, they were hanging up the $6000.00 turntable and going purely digital. Not that they don't still love records, they just want the convenience of digital formats and have upgraded their equipment along those lines instead of investing in more analog gear. We are keeping the ones that we want here at TheKittenAndTiigerShow, but those of you who know us, know that we love records also, and have so many in our personal collection, that we just can't keep everything and wish to be good stewards of record collections that we have purchased over the years.
Make sure you check out our eBay store as we will be adding titles from this collection over the next several months. There is a link to our store a bit further down in this listing.

Our grading standards:
MINT - M : Perfect! Looks like it has just left the manufacturer, with NO flaws whatsoever. We have only used this grade once or twice in all of our years of selling records.

NEAR MINT - NM-: Virtually flawless records, not perfect. There might be one or two very minor flaws that are hard to detect, which have most likely occurred during packaging or removing the record from the inner sleeve, but has been handled with extreme care.   EXCELLENT - EX: Excellent condition with a minor scuff or two, which are visible but only slightly. Absolutely no scratches/“feelers”. Wear is minimal and record retains most of its original shine and luster.
VERY GOOD PLUS VG+: Will show some wear, paper scuffs or spiral scuffs from turntable platters and some light scratches. Vinyl still has good luster, but flaws are noticeable to the naked eye.

VERY GOOD - VG: Record surface shows wear, but does have some luster. More noticeable scratches than a VG+.

We do not normally sell records less than a VG grade unless they are extremely rare.
International Buyers – Please Note: Worldwide shipping for $24.00, Canada - $15.00 Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.   Thank you for shopping with us and please check out the other great records we are selling. We are always adding new inventory, so be sure to add us to your favorite seller list and check back often!
