You are bidding on a still sealed, never opened copy of Donald Byrd's "Xtacy" LP.  This is a 1974 pressing on the Trip label with a new cover.  This album was originally released as "Jazz Lab" in 1958 on the Jubilee label with first credit going to alto saxophonist Gigi Gryce.  Trip reissued this 16 years later with Donald Byrd as the lead artist after his success in the 60s and 70s.

This copy is brand new and still sealed.  The seam of the shrinkwrap has separated along the top but is still fully intact running down the length of the album's opening and the record has certainly never been extracted or played.  Though the shrinkwrap has opened at the top, this IS a sealed, unplayed record.

The cover is in VG+ condition.  The tightness of the shrinkwrap has pulled on the cover a bit, causing a little bit of waving, which should relax once the shrinkwrap is removed (assuming the buyer intends to do such).

This album was acquired as part of a small collection brought in to our store by a gentleman who's grandfather had passed away.

A look into our vinyl record grading:

M - An unopened record. Truly brand new.

NM - A near mint record plays as if brand new. No visual defects and immaculate playback.

VG++ - A record which plays near mint but may have a visual hairline or scuff.  Tremendous playback throughout.

VG+ - LP may have a hint of surface noise in the silence between tracks. May have minor visual defects that do not have direct impact on play quality. If a VG+ record has any surface noise within tracks, details will be provided in listing.

VG - A VG+ by many other dealers' standards.  An LP which may have faint surface noise at points in the record but will never be distracting.  Possibly a non-repetitive pop.

VG- - A record which has noticeable surface noise. No skips. Still a very enjoyable record; a good starter copy.

G - A record with surface noise that may, at times, be very noticeable. No skips.

F - A fair record may have a skip; read description carefully for details about severity.

Shipping is $4 for media mail delivery of 10" & 12" vinyl. Shipping for first class delivery of 7"s is $3.  An upgrade to first class shipment of 10" and 12" records available upon request for an additional fee.

All LPs are packed in a cardboard mailer with additional stiff padding for safe delivery from our location in North Carolina.  All items are dispatched within 2 business days of payment received.

Speakeasy Records gladly ships internationally.  However, any item sold outside North America for more than $75USD requires the buyer have a 90%+ rating over a minimum of 20 ratings. Otherwise, the buyer may be asked to pay for registered shipping, which will cost an additional $15USD.

Speakeasy Records will provide insurance on any items sold for at least $75USD to domestic customers.

Used albums may be returned only if the item has been improperly described in the opinion of the buyer.  Item must be returned to Speakeasy in the same condition it was originally sold.

New albums may only be returned if unopened.  Opened LPs sold brand new may only be returned if there was a manufacturer's defect preventing appropriate play.  New LPs with a slight warp that does not impact play will NOT be accepted for return as we unfortunately cannot take responsibility for lowered quality control at record pressing plants.
