RARE original Casablanca Records very first STEREO press released only in Chile in 1978 by Quatro Records, licensed from Casablanca Records & FilmWorks, Inc. USA, with “desert” Casablanca Records labels, catalog number LPCAS-8019, with hand etched matrix numbers LP-CAS-8019-A MSM-CD in Side A and LP-CAS-8019-B MSM-CD in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the date of pressing, “16-11-78” (November 16th of 1978) in Side A and “13-11-78” (November 13th of 1978) in Side B. This is one of the few expamples in which the record has a different date of pressing for sides A and B. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“LO MEJOR DE… DONNA SUMMER” is an exclusive compilation album released in Chile in 1978. And we got it like many cases of that period with and UNIQUE COVER!!! Yes!!! The cover is a flipback cover made with 2 single pieces of cardboard, with front cover pasted in the flips of back cover. Front cover is laminated and it has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE with a photo of Donna Summer and album title written in Spanish only. Back cover isn’t laminated and it keeps the same artwork of front cover but only black and white colored, with album title written only in Spanish and tracklist written in English only, with full credits for each song. In labels the album title is also written only in Spanish and tracklist only in English, with credits only for songwriters of each song. It’s interesting to notice that the first song of the album, correctly written in back cover, “JE T’AIME (Moi Non Plus)”, is shortened in label, “JE T’AIME”. So, here you have the chance to own an exclusive compilation album of Donna Summer with her biggest hits at the time with an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition the front cover, clean and clear, no missing parts, no writings, no creases, only some wear in edges and corners, no seam splits, no blemishes, and in VG+ or EX- condition the back cover, clean and clear, with some age browning and ring marks, no writings, no marks of any kind. The record is in superb VG or even VG+ condition, glossy and clean, with loads of soft scuffs and hairlines and some light scratches, which don’t affect sound at all. Labels on both sides are in NM- or NM condition, clean and clear, no writings, no marks of any kind. The sound is in VG or VG+ condition, loud and clear, but with a soft background noise and light crackles which don’t cause distraction from the great “disco” sound the album keeps, and in great VG+ or EX- condition both sides, clear, loud, with still a soft background noise (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), only some soft pops and some very light crackles here and there, less than in Side A, which don’t distract at all from the great sound of this album. Overall a RARE record, only released in Chile, in still a great condition, with a superb UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, a very good look and a more than respectable sound quality after 35 years!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
