DONOVAN - GIFT FROM A FLOWER TO A GARDEN
Donovan's classic folk opus. 2 mono LPs with box and illustrated lyric sheets. Unbelievably rare in this format.
First, the limitations: the box has damage to one corner and shows signs of general ageing.One label is damaged and all labels have the previous owner's name in ballpoint pen. There is also a sticker inside the box with the name Wells and an address inscribed.
The good news: this is complete - the folder with illustrated lyric sheets - 12 in all - is in lovely condition, and is virtually impossible to find in such good order. The LPs play perfectly throughout, with the only limitation being slight crackle at the start of side 3. Visually, they are vg+/excellent, but vinyl was made to last in those days and, as I say, they play without any damage to the audio quality. I use a Garrard 401 turntable with a Linn Basik tone-arm set to 1.5 grams weight, so it would show (and does) any imperfections.
A lovely item for the Donovan collector, or a collector of rare records, and 60s ephemera in particular. This is a true product of its time.
