Description
Here is Ohio band MARION McKAY AND HIS ORCHESTRA, in their 1924 record of "DOO WACKA DOO" and "HONEST AND TRULY."
The rumor that BIX BEIDERBECKE participated in and soloed on this date, persisted for years. The band's actual cornetist, LEROY MORRIS, did such a fantastic job on "Doo Wacka Doo," sounding so similar to Bix, that the debate went on and on from 1924 through the 1980s. It's pretty well established by now that Morris is indeed the cornetist, but he stands at the head of the "It Sounds Like Bix" crowd for his outstanding effort.
This original 1924 Gennett 5615 is in solid E- condition.
