180-gram vinyl & JAPAN CD HAVE THE SAME TRACK LISTINGS -

Known for their ability of churning out hit songs, top charting albums and sell-out shows across the globe, The Doobie Brothers began their amazing four decade plus career in 1971 with the self-titled masterwork The Doobie Brothers. Initially a quartet featuring current founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, their debut showed early on how they had the skills to be in the forefront of making excellent sounding recordings.

For The Doobie Brothers LP, they took their Bay Area soul and rock driven sounds to a devoted audience with their first chart hit singles like "Nobody" and "Feelin' Down Farther." Produced by Ted Templeman, this album would go on to become one of the most important debut rock releases of the early '70s.

Fronted by the dual lead guitar force of Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons, the late Dave Shogren on bass, and the stellar drum expertise of John Hartman, The Doobie Brothers started their trek to the music charts as the LP went even deeper on album radio with even more powerful fare such as Tom Johnston's delivery on the hypnotic "Travelin' Man" and "Greenwood Creek," plus the gospel rock feel of Patrick Simmons' "Growin' A Little Each Day."

Impeccably mastered by Joe Reagoso (Doobie Brothers/Michael McDonald/Boz Scaggs) from the original Warner Bros. tapes at Friday Music Studios and at Capitol Mastering, The Doobie Brothers sounds incredibly earthy and rockin' as you remember it. As an added anniversary bonus, Friday Music is presenting the audiophile limited edition album in the original cover, with artwork elements not seen in years in the LP format, further enhancing your Doobie Brothers listening experience.

WHAT IS A JAPAN "MINI-LP-SLEEVE" CD?

Have you ever lamented the loss of one of the 20th Century's great art forms, the 12" vinyl LP jacket? Then "mini-LP-sleeve" CD's may be for you.

Mini-sleeve CDs are manufactured in Japan under license. The disc is packaged inside a 135MM X 135MM cardboard precision-miniature replica of the original classic vinyl-LP album. Also, anything contained in the original LP, such as gatefolds, booklets, lyric sheets, posters, printed LP sleeves, stickers, embosses, special LP cover paper/inks/textures and/or die cuts, are precisely replicated and included. An English-language lyric sheet is always included, even if the original LP did not have printed lyrics.

Then, there's the sonic quality:  Mini-sleeves have dedicated remastering  and can often be superior to the audio on the same title anywhere else in the world. There also may be bonus tracks unavailable elsewhere.

Each Japan mini-sleeve has an "obi" ("oh-bee"), a removable Japan-language promotional strip. The obi lists the Japan street date of that particular release, the catalog number, the mastering info, and often the original album's release date.  Tracks are only listed on the obi, maintaining the integrity of the original LP artwork. The obi's are collectable, and should not be discarded.

All mini-sleeve releases are tremendously limited editions mainly pressed on future orders only and once released immediately out of print. This fact along with other latter features we've mentioned make these titles rare collectibles that sell in the collectors markets for $100's of dollars apiece. Japanese digitally re-mastered Mini LP replica Limited Edition Collection with OBI sash down the front – VERY FEW pieces made world-wide and are immediately Out of Print.  Recorded from the finest Original Masters available.  Comes with anti-static sleeves similar to Vinyl LPs, Cardboard packaging like an LP.  Actual miniaturized version of the 12” LP in 4” CD version.
