Last time I saw this album in print on vinyl was in 1992. Then it suddenly disappeared from the stores, never to be issued again in the same format (except, briefly, as a laser disc). This album captures Doors in one of their most incendiary, robust performances captured on tape - their 1968 roof-tearing performance at the Hollywood Bowl (also venue of one of the more famous Beatles appearances).. The songs are:1. Wake Up (Excerpt from "Celebration of the Lizard") 2.Light My Fire (clocking in at at 8 minutes 15 seconds, this is one of the more jazzed-up, improvisatory versions of this classic song) 3. Unknown Soldier (another great version) 4.A Little Game (Excerpt from "Celebration of the Lizard") 5. The Hill Dwellers (Excerpt from "Celebration of the Lizard") 6. Spanish Caravan and 7. Light My Fire (edit). To these ears, this is the best-sounding Doors’ concert recording in existence.

THE WHITE LABEL PROMO, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed to the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals": the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record.

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(c)           The record is pressed on a beautiful, high-quality, virgin-grade vinyl, which is usually used for audiophile, extended-dynamic-range, half-speed mastered and connoisseur pressings.

(d)          White Promo Label version of this title is much rarer that a regular, commercially released, version of this title. We estimate that stock copies of this album outnumber promo copies by a ratio of at least 50:1.

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD+++.

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a visible "wrinkle"(crease)  in one of the corners.

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2.

-        Cover has a small cutout saw-mark (an indent about 3-5 mm long ) on one of its seams.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No split seams

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No yellowing from aging

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams
