Description
The SoftParade is the fourth studio album by The Doors, released in 1969.
The album metwith some controversy among fans and critics due to its inclusion of brass andstring instrument arrangements, as opposed to the more stripped-down sound oftheir earlier recordings. Fans also complained that The Soft Parade followedthe lyrical formulas of previous albums, and thus was not very innovative. Inreviewing the 40th anniversary remix (for the August 2007 issue of DownbeatMagazine) correspondent Dan Ouellette thought otherwise, declaring it to be"the apex" of the band's creativity.
Due to JimMorrison's increasing alcoholism and interest in poetry, guitarist RobbyKrieger has a stronger presence on The Soft Parade than on any other Doors albumfrom the Morrison era, contributing around half the material, including sharingthe lead vocal on the song "Runnin' Blue".
After thisalbum, the Doors returned to simpler styles on Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman.

Subjective
This press is in excellent condition, it is a beautiful looking record and retains all of its deep mirror-like lustre and shine and has no apparent groove-wear.
Playing
I recently played it again, the tracks I listened to played through lovely. I don’t think it has any significant hissing, jumps, skips, between track crackle and nasty loud pops.
History
It has been in my collection since new and only played a few times on a quality turntable.

Definitions
Near Mint Condition
Very nearly mint just slightly under, maybe a couple of very, very light paper sleeve scuffs that can only be seen under strong light. Some would class this as mint. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. Cover is virtually perfect - very minimal wear only.
Excellent Condition
A clean & tidy copy that shows virtually no defects. Maybe one or two light needle scuffs or light sleeve removal marks that can only be seen under strong light. There will be no scratches. Play will be near perfect with no distortion. Cover will be very nice with maybe very minimal creasing, ring wear or edge wear.
