A little while ago, I got a call from an old friend who'd been a part of the Sydney inner city punk/indie scene from about 1977-84 (his older brother was in a great Detroit-style garage-punk band at the time)...anyway he was clearing house and wanted to get rid of his record collection. So I bought it all. He's a cool guy who'd had a passion for the whole tribal Aussie punk/indie/Detroit-inspired/Radio Birdman thing, plus the post-punk/synth/'little bands'/M Squared scene too and had bought a lot of classics at the time...plus other random goodies of minimal rarity but high on quality - it's great stuff...I remember he used to shop at Phantom a lot, a few even have old Phantom price stickers on them still - I left them on. Some were second copies he bought at the time, which were stored away and NEVER played! 

Anyway, this record below is one of that collection:

ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING?:    Yes, it is... .

Their one and only 7".  Both sides are utterly incredible! 'A' side is intense snarling post-punk brilliance - like an angrier, darker version of The Cure...hints of Joy Division/Christian Death even. 'B' side is equally intense, equally as dark, with some stunning Cure-style guitar, and a slightly more Goth element than the 'A' side. (In this case, that's a VERY good thing!)

Most importantly, both songs are the absolute pinnacle of their genre...both are 10-out-of-10 perfect. This is possibly the best single Au Go Go ever released - certainly the most intense.

Band was formed from the remnants of The Blue Scooters, a Melbourne Mod band who sadly never released anything...and included ex-/later members of Microfilm, The Ears, Dresden War Crimes, and Olympic Sideburns.

CONDITION:

COVER: ( M- )...so close to mint!...

VINYL: ( VG++ )...just has a few very light scuffs/marks only...plays very well...

LABELS: (Side One: MINT / Side Two: MINT )...
