Description

DOWNLINERS  SECT   " THE  SECT "  VERY RARE ALBUM

Released in 1964 on the COLUMBIA  (blue and black) LABEL   "MONO"  33SX 1658

                                                          Condition:-  GOOD / VERY GOOD

I bought this Album in October 1967 on the Isle of Wight from a local record shop in Cowes.
It was played on a high quality turntable for that era (Thorens 125 turntable SME arm with
Shure V15 cartridge)  It was cleaned with a high quality cleaner and stored in a plastic outer
sleeve for protection.  I am not a record dealer and never have been, I am just selling off my
                   own private Album collection.

                                                             SIDE 1.  Matrix no.  XAX  2729  -  1N

                                                                      3.  Lonely and Blue.
                                                                      4.  Our Little Rendezvous.
                                                                      5.  Guitar Boogie.
                                                                      6.  Too Much Monkey Business.
                                                                      7.  Sect Appeal.

                                                             SIDE 2.  Matrix no.  XAX  2730  -  1N

Track 1.  Baby What's on your Mind.
                                                                      2.  Cops and Robbers.
                                                                      3.  Easy Rider.
                                                                      4.  Bloodhound.
                                                                      5.  Bright Lights.
                                                                      6.  I Want to put a Tiger in your Tank.
                                                                      7.  Be a Sect Maniac.

                                                                    THE  COVER

The COVER is in a VERY GOOD + condition.  It is in a LAMINATED GLOSS finish on
The FRONT COVER and a MATT finish on the BACK COVER.  The FRONT COVER
is VERY CLEAN with only one surface crease near the top of the sleeve opening, but
hardly noticeable.  The FOUR CORNERS are FIRM and TRUE without any scuff marks.
The SPINE is STRAIGHT and SHARP and the TITLE is VERY CLEAR.  The BACK
COVER is CLEAN with only one stain in the centre of the COVER and some writing in
the top right hand corner  (Isle of Wight  October 1967)  The SLEEVE OPENING is
BEAUTIFUL, STRAIGHT with no FRAYING.  For and Album COVER of 44 years old
It is in an AMAZING condition.  It is on the verge of being an EXCELLENT rating, but I
                    am holding back !

                                                                           THE  VINYL

The VINYL is in a GOOD to VERY GOOD condition.  It  has the  "BLUE  and  BLACK"
Label  and is in  MONO.  It is VERY CLEAN in a GLOSS finish.  The LABEL is also
VERY CLEAN with just a few very light spindle marks.  It comes complete with the
"ORIGINAL"  INNER SLEEVE in EXCELLENT condition, no rips or tears.  It has the
usual creases.  The ALBUM has no scratches and plays from beginning to end without
any jumps.  SIDE 1. Track 1 & 2 have some crackles only on the left hand channel, the
right channel sounds perfect.  There are some pops and crackles in between the songs.
On Track 6. there are also some crackles on the left hand channel.  SIDE 2. All the Tracks
are VERY GOOD with only light pops and crackles in between the songs.  I TEST PLAYED
it on my REGA PLANAR 3 turntable with ORTOFON cartridge and for an ALBUM that
hasn't been played for 38 years, the BAND had so much energy and it was so exciting to
listen to again after all these years.  Having said all that... the quality was still clear and
detailed in good old MONO !   This is a REAL COLLECTORS ALBUM.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

                                                                     PEDRO'S  VINYL

I have been collecting Albums since 1964 and have amassed a fantastic collection or rare
LPs.  I have recently made the traumatic decision to sell off my collection to finance other
ventures.  I've always been obsessive about playing my LPs on the best possible audio
equipment for that era.  I have always stored my Albums in specially made LP units to keep
them free from dust and heat.  Thank you for looking and good luck with your bidding, PEDRO.
