Description

Like most labels, Atlantic Records sent out promotional copies of their records to radio stations. A very small percentage of those albums were monaural pressings, now coveted by collectors and music fans alike. Mono commercial issues of most albums (at least those  recorded in stereo) were phased out by 1968, and now these promo-only monaural versions are even harder to find.


Original promo-only mono pressing of Dr. John's the Sun Moon & Herbs album . This is a white label issue on the Atlantic-distributed Atco 362.


White label record has a few light marks but plays near-mint. It's possible it is unplayed other than to test it for this listing. It's in its original custom inners sleeves with graphic & lyrics.


Gatefold cover is a stock stereo one with 2 promo stickers: one listing suggested cuts for airplay, the other noting it's monaural and promotional. The cover is VG++ (or better), with some minor edge wear.
