Description
This is a fine U.S. white label promo copy of the fourth LP by New Orleans pianist Mac Rebennack, aka Dr. John Creaux, the Night Tripper, released in 1971. The record is his last to focus on the lyrical and sonic territory he debuted on his wonderful 1968 LP Gris-Gris, though again a couple of tracks draw in more straightforward fashion on the music of New Orleans, anticipating 1972's romping musical tribute to the city, Dr. John’s Gumbo. The textured gatefold jacket is close to pristine with light corner, spine, and seam wear (M-). There are two promo stickers on the front cover. The disc has some hairline scrapes and light dinging and scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise (EX). The record comes with a custom inner sleeve (VG+).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
