DR. STRANGELY STRANGE - HEAVY PETTING
A great condition copy of this late 1970 psych/folk gem with gleaming vinyl and brilliant stereo sound quality throughout
Excellent (EX) condition vinyl - flat and displaying a beautiful jet black sheen. It is only with very close inspection under a bright light that some extremely faint paper scuff/grazes can be can be identified on each side along with just a couple of small and wispiest of wispy hairlines : obviously nothing feelable, appearing to be purely superficial and certainly nothing to impinge upon the wonderful start-to-finish stereo audio quality. Excellent (EX) condition labels : again, impressive with just a couple of very faint ageing "spots" on the side 2 label and a few equally faint small rogue spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label. Excellent (EX) condition original Howard's Printers unlaminated "gimmix" outer sleeve. Please take a look at my photos : this record was released in a complicated gimmix cover with two die-cut flaps folded over the main sleeve and is reknown for it's fragility. This copy has none of the usual tears or splits. Each edge remains firm with a few occasional and light scuff marks on the bottom and side edges including a 3cm continuous scuff at the top of the left side edge. The unique design means there is no spine as such and the whole sleeve opens out beautifully to reveal the unique design in it's entirety! Each corner remains a nicely defined right angle with a little mild rubbing on each, the front and rear sides are excellent with all colours, art work, and photos remaining vibrabt and with great definition still. There is no cardboard creasing, no unwanted writing and all the folds are exactly where they should be. There are just a couple of small and light handling/storage marks on each of the front and reverse sides (very trivial), and the sleeve itself remains fully functional and eminently presentable. Rare to find one of these not containing splits and/or tears and it really is hard to believe that this copy is 56 years old! Superb, excellent (EX) stereo audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, distortion, interference, or background crackle. Crystal clear stereo sound quality throughout with great tone and each and every track remaining a great listen (worth buying if only for the amazing guitar solo on "Sign On My Mind")...such an underrated and, at the time of it's original release, "under the radar" album. You may come across the very occasional and random very light background solitary click but in each instance (4 or 5 times) I could find no obvious cause and so have to assume these result from the odd speck of dust caught in the grooves through decades of storage. This LP really is a brilliant listen from start to finish. Comes with original poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with no edge splits, tears or edge fraying - just a little very mild creasing towards the corners and some occasional and very, very light age discolouration. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. A very rare and highly sought after 1970 UK 1st press folk/prog/psych gem - unique and great condition outer, and brilliant crystal clear stereo sound quality.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
