Description

DR STRANGELY STRANGE - HEAVY PETTING - VERTIGO UK 1970 SWIRL ORIGINAL.
This is your chance to own an original 1970 copy of Heavy Petting by Dr Strangely Strange.  This is a first 6360 009 with the iconic VERTIGO "swirl" label and sleeve.

Condition is Used.

This record has been kept in a cool dry cupboard and un-played for well over 40 years having been purchased by me in 1970 and then carried off to university and subsequent houses in a record box.
I have not played it, to check track quality, as I no longer have a respectable turntable fearing that one of today's modern USB record decks would act more like a plastic milling machine.  My comments below are therefore based on a close visual inspection only.  I have not cleaned the disc.
Disc:
Side A: The label has the Vertigo swirl, the label at the centre hole has no rubbing of paper, close inspection shows some lines from label burnishing from centre pin of turntable.
The disc surface is in excellent visual condition with no visible scratches but there are a few fingerprints and some surface dust.  The Matrix / Runout is stamped  6360009 1Y // 1 1 1 2
Side B: The label has the offset Vertigo swirl,  the printing is crisp and sharp with no significant  rubbing. The label has the VERTIGO branding in outlined capitals.
The disc surface is in excellent visual condition with no visible scratches but there are a few fingerprints and some surface dust.  The Matrix / Runout is stamped  6360009 2Y // 1 1 1 1
The photographs hopefully give some idea of the condition of the vinyl disc.

Sleeve:
The sleeve, which has the Vertigo swirl on both sides, is in reasonable condition with some brown age related discolouration to the paper with minor creasing as expected with age. The film inner lining is intact but the glue attaching it to the paper outer is brown and discoloured but still doing its job.  Sleeve printing shows "British Patent 800513 & 973939".
Cover:
The front cover has the Vertigo Swirl and VERTIGO logo in the top right corner.  The cardboard is smooth, clean and "crisp"with some slight rubbing and wear to the bottom edges and corners where the record has been slid into the storage box.  Unfortunately there is a tear and creasing to the front top right cardboard fold over flap arising from sliding in other records next to it in the storage box (I'm kicking myself, why didn't I buy that transparent sleeve!).  The rear fold over flaps are in good condition.   Please inspect the photographs carefully.
For shipping I will place the record in plastic wrapping and pack in double stiff corrugated packaging.
