DR. STRANGELY STRANGE Kip Of the Serenes LP, Island ILPS 9106, UK 1st pressing from 1969 on pink label with black/orange circle logo. A//1, B//1 stamped matrices. This copy comes complete with its original  poly-lined inner bag.

The disc is in a MINT- condition. Pristine, deep-gloss surface, without surface marks or visible scratches. Careful inspection in strong daylight reveals just a handful of harmless wispy paper hairlines. However, they do not affect the sound quality of the record. This copy has received only a handful of careful plays on superb quality equipment and as a result - the sound is clean and warm throughout. In fact, apart from two odd low-key tics there is nothing else to fault audibly on this superb copy.

The original matt cover by Ernest J. Day is in an EX condition and would have rated highest possible grade if there were not a small colour fill near the right hand top corner.  A respectable example of this extremely fragile cover which bears no major faults and has ultra crisp edges and a fully intact spine with all lettering 100%. Please study the pictures closely.

This copy may be impossible to upgrade.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This is an absolutely gorgeous slab of early quality ISLAND vinyl which is in splendid EX condition!! This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality progfolk album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find. I have twentyfive years experience in grading. It doesn't get much better than this!!

BACK IN 1969 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED, IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS - AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

In all my years this is only the second time I have come across this PROGMONSTER. Immensely scarce and probably the hardest album to find on Island!! Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .The audio is impeccable. Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.

Vinyl: EX++ .  A sensational find!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. Only one wispy hairlines can be seen under a strong lightsource. Fantastic songcraft!! A personal favourite of mine and I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection. This will be an ultimate upgrade version for most collectors.  Outstanding audio delivery in all respects with a crystal clear, deep, rich, warm and detailed sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing and it's always an immense pleasure to return to this one) there is barely any surface noise. This is a beautifully clean pressing (and I must emphasise again how difficult it is to find a copy which plays this well). The whole LP sounds absolutely great and plays to a high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion and is very strictly graded a strong EX+  for audio without anything untoward, no static or crackle at all - great copy!! Of course, NO skips, NO jumps, NO ticks.

Sleeve: EX.  A very thin matt sleeve that is very vulnerable indeed, it will deteriorate by just even looking at it. Finding it in this kind of condition is near impossible. This one is a great example without any creases or smudges, no writing. The spine is just perfect with all printing clear and vibrant. Straight edges and a nice crisp opening. There was a tiny sticker tear top right which has been professionally repaired with a color fill by a local artist.

Labels: EX+!!! Unmarked. these are the very desirable ROUGH TEXTURED labels. Smooth labels are found on later presses and are likewise ultrarare as are the pink "eye" labels. None scarcer though than this label!! I doubt we will see this again this year or the next! Please look at the pics!!
