Out of my collection of original 60's 70's reggae. These mostly Jamaican records are in STEREO unless otherwise stated (the labels almost never mention the fact that the recording is in stereo). Some of these Jamaican records have only one groove (normally there are a few) leading to the first groove of the music-track which makes it hard with automatic set turntables for the stylus (needle) to 'land' without falling off the edge, with those records it is better to use manual tonearm movement. Always check the first groove(s) on the edge of the record!
A 1967 Jamaican production by B.K.Calnek on CALTONE label with nr TONE 103AY and 103AX. (the X suggest an A side, but I am pretty sure 103AY is the A side).
On side A: DREADER THAN DREAD by HONEYBOY MARTIN AND THE VOICES WITH TOMMY McCOOK AND THE SUPERSONICS, on side B: IN THE MOOD (ROCK STEADY) by DANDY & HIS GROUP.
Grading: this record looks in a very good condition with some scuffs and hairlines that do not effect play or sound too much, see test.
TEST: (on old Garrard 125SB with shure N75 Stylus = normal spherical, Stylus Force -Weight- on 1, Bias Compensator = Anti Skate on 1.5) Record plays well (no skipping or sticking) with on side A clear sound and on side B (In the Mood) good sound but with a bit of crackle.
The label has small writing on the middle bit, see pictures.
The record edge is undamaged.
