Record EX / Sleeve EX (normal wear)
First release by this San Diego band, incorporating hardcore, grunge,
noiserock, rock, emo and pop punk. If that sounds familiar, a look
at the lineup reveals John Reis of Rocket from the Crypt.
There are certain similarities, but DLJ are less extreme, and even though
there are melodic elements, their music tends to be less catchy and hymnic
than RFTC's. In addition, singer Rick Froberg (previously in Pitchfork with Reis)
has a much thinner voice, so everythings sounds a bit less accessible and less impressive.
Don't get me wrong, this is a great and diverse record,
but the comparison to RFTC is inevitable...(FLEX)
