This outfit came from Columbia and Syracuse Universities in New York but relocated to Los Angeles in 1966. reputedly included Elliot Randall on lead vocals at one time. Randall later played with Sea Train prior to forming Randall's Island in 1971. However, the line up for their sole album, which was produced by Jerry Goldstein, was that shown above. It's a fairly routine rock album, which includes cover versions of Jay Hawkins I Put A Spell On You and Dylan's It's All Over Now Baby Blue. Not really worth searching for, but it has recently had a limited repress. Their 45 was later included on the album. The recent double 7" EP, on Sundazed, contains some brilliant, Pretty Things styled, raucous R&B / garage - particularly the rollercoaster rendition of Who Do You Love, and Them inspired Baby Please Don't Go. The EP, which is recommended comes with detailed sleeve notes from Mike Stax and Jud Cost, which reveal how The Druids' played in front of their idols The Rolling Stones, whilst they were house band at the Ondine - a trendy Manhattan club and jammed with Eric Burdon and Jimi Hendrix. The Druids Of Stonehenge also opened shows for Moby Grape, The Blues Project and Big Brother & The Holding Company in their time.
