DUFFY POWER with THE GRAHAM BOND QUARTET
"I SAW HER STANDING THERE" / "FAREWELL BABY"
7" on the UK original PARLOPHONE RECORDS lable R 5024 from 1963
Pre-dating 'The Graham Bond ORGANization', and including the talented future CREAM members Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker, this single presented DUFFY POWER at the microphone for a rare and early version of McCartney-Lennon's composed Beatles rock and roll classic 'I Saw Her Standing There'. This showed that The Beatles were not just a bubblegum boy-band by any means, and that their songwriting talents were taken seriously already, among the Jazz and Beat 'IN' crowd.
You could guess, even if Bond were not credited, that he's the keyboard player - it bears his musical signature throughout, and to the fore!
For me it's the flip where they let it hang out, and do their best playing. The rhythm section is exceptional here, and GB goes off on those keys really tastefully.

The vinyl is in respectable VG++/EX condition, nice shine and no groove-wear.
