Rare, original, "Duke Kahanamoku Presents A Beachboy Party with Waltah Clarke"  LP 33 rpm record on Duke Kahanamoku Record label.  

Recorded “On the beach at Waikiki”,  at the Outrigger Canoe Club. This is the legendary 1963 album. This is a Hawaiian collector’s “must-have”! James Michener called the Waikiki Beachboys “the perpetual adolescents of the ocean” and said of them “without these remarkable people the island would be nothing. With them it is a carnival.” This is the only time in the history of the Beachboys, dating back from the time of King Kamehameha (who was quite a Beachboy himself) that the boys ever made a recording, to say nothing of the first and most likely only time they have ever been rounded up for a group photograph. The Beachboys include: Duke Kahanamoku, Chick Daniels, Panama, Kalakaua, Fat, Jimmy Hakuole, Squeeze Kamana, & Splash Lyons, and party host: the one-time leading retailer of Hawaiian sportswear and long time friend of the Beachboys – Waltah Clarke. This LP memorializes a wonderful part of Hawaii’s rich history, which is now all but gone! You can’t help but sense and feel touched by the emotion and carefree spirit of the Beachboys, their lives, and that special era now bygone. This LP is alleged to contain the only recording of Duke Kahanamoku's voice ever made.!

I am seeling off my huge LP record collection. My grading is sound, based upon my research into current price and availability for rare records.

Condition: Cover is in VG - VG+ condition. It still has an original Holiday Gift note from Waltah Clarke on the cover. No split spine. Spine is intact and solid.  There is a crease/slight bend in upper left corner. Cover shows sign of ring wear. See photo.  LP is VG+ condition. One surface scratch. This record is rare and extremely hard to find. Especially with the surge in interest in surf music.  A classic for the surf music collector.
