Great condition 1968 UK 1st press copy of this highly collectable jazz rarity with the little played vinyl and wonderfully impressive stereo sound quality being true highlights
Year/Label : 1968 UK POLYDOR Label number : 583 723 Matrix numbers : 583723 A//1 420 / 583723 B//1 420 Stampers : 11 2, 11 1Truly excellent (EX) condition jet black sheen vinyl with just a few extremely faint paper scuffs on each side, only really visible when viewed closely under a bright light - nothing feelable or below the surface and purely superficial as borne out by the superb stereo sound quality. Pristine labels - I can just about make out a couple of small and extremely faint spindle trails on the side 2 label but apart from that the labels remain unmarked. Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played. Fully laminated MacNeill Press excellent (EX) condition outer sleeve with firm and unscuffed edges; the 1st press "nipped" end spine is also firm with all spine text remaining fully intact, each corner remains a near perfect right angle with some light rubbing on the bottom right corner only, and the opening edges remain straight and taut with no fraying or foxing. There is a thin strip of laminate vertical lifting adjacent to the spine on both of the front and reverse sides and a couple of small and non-obvious very light surface laminate creases on the front side, but apart from these very minor blemishes the condition of the sleeve is hard to fault with the iconic art work and colouring remaining beautifully intact. Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference or distortion and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum...negligible in fact, with just the hint of some very background crackle during a couple of the intermissions. Great tone with crystal clear instrumentation and every track a great listen. Comes with original plain white "MADE IN ENGLAND" inner sleeve with no edge splits, two small 1cm tears on the front-side die cut, and some very mild age discolouration towards the edges. A truly excellent condition copy of this sparingly played UK 1st press jazz rarity - difficult to believe that this record is now 55 years old, especially in condition as impressive as this.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
