Duke Pearson utilized an intriguing and atmospheric nonet for this 1968 project. Jerry Dodgion on alto and alto flute is a key voice in a group also including the extraordinary Bobby Hutcherson, two guitars, bass, drums and two percussionists, playing moody originals. As a bonus, "Say You're Mine" features Pearson in a trio. Stereo Van Gelder Liberty original. One of my favourite Blue Notes. The Phantom is modal heaven pure bliss.

A VERY NICE AND COLLECTABLE RECORD IN VERY FIRST ISSUE.
