Description

My Sunday bonus item this week is an ORIGINAL 1959 MONAURAL BLUE NOTE LABEL MONO U.S. DEEP GROOVE PRESSING of the LP titled 'Profile' from jazz pianist Duke Pearson with bass and drums. It is Blue Note Records catalog number 4022, with the address 'Blue Note Records Inc - 43 West 61st St. - New York 23' printed at the bottom of the back cover, and the address 'Blue Note Records Inc - 47 West 63rd - NYC' printed on both labels. Personnel: Duke Pearson-piano / Gene Taylor-bass / Lex Humphries-drums. Tracks: Like Someone In Love, Black Coffee, Taboo, I'm Glad There Is You, Gate City Blues, Two Mile Run, Witchcraft. I always try to grade my first press modern jazz LPs extremely conservatively and about one-half grade lower than I would if they were any other musical genre -- Please keep this in mind as you read my condition grading. Condition of record is very conservatively in filler condition at about G+/VG- with some surface marks which cannot be felt and will not affect play, and with three or four small or pinpoint size surface scratches with can be felt and which will cause ticks; these are the primary reason for the low grading. Labels are nice with no real problems - NO writing, stickers, or tears. Condition of cover is pretty nice at a low VG+ with some wear at the bottom of the spine, the original selling price of the album written in pencil at the top left corner of the back cover, a little contact and ring wear on the white areas of the back cover, a tiny bit of wear on the front cover, and some wear along the edges and on the corners. I am a WebTV user, and I do not have the means to upload images of my items - Please e-mail me with any specific questions. I have priced this LP modestly to reflect the graded filler condition, which I feel in all honesty is a bit overly conservative - This would be a very worthy filler copy of this rare deep groove first pressing until you are able to obtain a copy without the few play deficiencies. Winning bidder pays $3.75 insured media mail postage or actual insured priority mail postage within the U.S. E-mail me for shipping charges outside the U.S. Personal checks must clear. I now accept payment via PayPal. WINNING BIDDER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE! I will give an immediate refund (less shipping) upon return of the LP if winning bidder is dissatisfied for any reason. Good luck!
