DULCIMER - AND I TURNED AS I HAD TURNED AS A BOY
A brilliant copy of this rare and sought after 1971 UK 1st press folk/rock gem

Matrix numbers : 6437003 (etched) 1Y//1 420 (stamped) / 6437003 (etched) 2Y//1 420 (stamped) and also has stamped cross-out "6340003 NEPS 900" on each side suggesting that this is an earliest 1st pressing

Gleaming, jet black sheen, and truly excellent (EX) condition vinyl - comes across as unmarked in normal daylight and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that just a few extremely faint paper scuff marks and small wispy hairlines come into view - each purely superficial and barely discernible even under a bright light. Similarly, each label is near perfect with the only marks being just a few small and very faint spindle lines adjacent to the centre hole on each label, further supporting the view that this record has been only sparingly played. Very good plus (VG+) condition and eminently presentable non-laminated original UK Linda Glover designed outer gatefold sleeve with all of the colours, art work, photos and text remaining beautifully intact. The only blemishes are some intermittent mild scuff marks on the top and bottom edges, a little rubbing on each of the corners (which nevertheless remain as nicely defined right angles), a couple of very minor and non-obvious ripples on the reverse side opening edge, a few very light 1-2cm surface crease marks adjacent and perpendicular to the top edge and spine (only really detectable when the gatefold is studied closely and tilted to the correct angle in a good light), and the odd inconsequential small and very light handling/storage mark - each minor and doing little to impinge upon the overall impressiveness of this iconic early 1970's gatefold. Truly excellent (EX) STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference, or distortion with any background crackle is at an absolute minimum (virtually non-existent), only just detectable during a couple of the interludes and quieter moments. Great tone with crystal clear vocals and instrumentation and every track a brilliant listen. Incredible that this is a 53 year old record! Comes with original, excellent condition poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" inner sleeve with no seam splits, no edge fraying, barely any age discolouration, and just some mild creasing towards the corners.
Underrated, undersold, and definitely under the radar when this record was first released in 1971.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
