Description
This rare item originally came from the collection of Sebastian Graham-Jones, a friend of Duncan Browne's, and has been kindly donated for auction by his sister Susie Graham-Jones.
All proceeds of this auction will go to the Back-Up Trust, to help those with spinal cord injuries.
The item consists of two acetate / lacquer discs from Utopia Studios, with 'Duncan Browne' written on each centre label.
Utopia Studios was a well-known recording studio in Primrose Hill, London, which I understand also hosted recording sessions of LPs by Queen, Duran Duran, Rick Wright of Pink Floyd, and many others.
As you can see there is no track listing or album title written anywhere on the discs, but I have played the discs through once and I found that they contain the songs for Browne's 1979 album "Streets of Fire".
As Sebastian Graham-Jones was a good friend of Duncan Browne, it seems likely that he was given these acetates by the artist.
Condition of the discs I would grade overall as 'very good'. Lacquers are very fragile however and these discs do have some marks. Disc 1 has some small marks and nicks (including a couple of nicks on the edge, which do not interfere with play). Disc 2 has some small marks and a mottling effect over much of the disc. Both discs play OK all the way through, but with quite a bit of surface noise.
Please note that due to the weight of these 2 discs, postage will be charged as for 3 LPs.
Postage
Double LPs, and larger sets, will be charged according to the number of LPs in the set. Box sets will be charged at +1 LP to allow for the weight of the box, libretto etc.
