Description
Here we have the First 3 LPs by New Romantic (80's) band, DURAN DURAN. Titled ; "DURAN DURAN" (1981) ; "RIO" (1982) & "SEVEN AND THE RAGGED TIGER" (1983). All 3 Albums are on the EMI Record label. As a bonus, I am including the related LP "THE POWER STATION" (1985) which features 2 of the 3 Taylors from DD with Robert Palmer on vocals (produced by Bernard Edwards); on the PARLOPHONE Record label.
1. DURAN DURAN (1981) :- EMI Records, EMC 3372. Vinyl :- EXCELLENT+ throughout, looks great & sounds great. FIRST PRESS ; Matrix:- A-1U + Michael I'm About To Explode / B-1U + Arthur Bold Inc. EXCELLENT Lyric Inner & Outer Sleeves. ** Features their first 3 Hit Singles; "Planet Earth" (no.12) ; "Careless Memories" (no. 37) &, "Girls On Film" (no. 5) as well as the mighty "Night Boat". OVERALL GRADE :- EXCELLENT+.
2. RIO (1982) :- EMI Records, EMC 3411. Vinyl ;- EXCELLENT+ throughout visual & Playback. Early Pressing ; Matrix:- A-3-1-4 / B-1-1-5. Lyric Inner & Outer Sleeves are EXCELLENT- (small seam split to former; slight edge & corner rub to latter). ** Features their next 4 Hit Singles ; "My Own Way" (no. 14) ; "Hungry Like The Wolf" (no. 5) ; "Save A Prayer" (no. 2) & , "Rio" (no. 9). OVERALL GRADE :- EXCELLENT.
3. SEVEN AND THE RAGGED TIGER (1983) :- EMI Records, EMC 1654541. Vinyl ;- EXCELLENT throughout; looks & sounds grand. Matrix:- A-12U-1-3 / B-13U-1-2 . Lyric Inner Exc.- (small seam split); Outer Sleeve is only VG+ (complete, but a deal of edge & corner rubbing). ** Features the Hit Singles ; "Union Of The Snake" (no. 3) ; "New Moon On Monday" (no. 9) &, "The Reflex" (no. 1). OVERALL GRADE :- EXCELLENT- .
4. THE POWER STATION (1985) :- EMI (Parlophone) Records, EJ 2402971. Vinyl :- EXCELLENT on playback, just a couple of mild surface marks downgrading the visual to EXC.- . Matrix:- A-1-1-1 / B-1-1-2 probably indicating a First Press. Inner Lyric Sleeve is Excellent. The Outer Sleeve is only just Good as, although complete, it has edge & corner rubbing as well as quite serious sticker removal damage. ** Features the minor Hit Singles; "Some Like It Hot" (no. 14) ; "Get It On" (no. 22) &, "Communication" (no. 75). OVERALL GRADE :- VERY GOOD+.
Overall Graded @ *EXCELLENT* .
