 Thank you for viewing my listings. On this site, I have decided to list records that are at least excellent\excellent plus  condition only  All of the records will be play tested at loud volume prior to listing on a top system. I will describe the audio quality as honest as possible and as I hear it. One of Britain's great-unsung guitar/harmonica players - Anthony "Duster" Bennett. The blues-mad 22 year-old from Wales was pointed in the direction of the UK's Blue Horizon label in early 1968 by none other than Fleetwood Mac's PETER GREEN

 Considering his status among Britain's finest blues composers, it's always seemed somewhat galling that Duster Bennett is best known for his cover of the Kinks' "Act Nice and Gentle" -- although when you hear it, you can understand why. Without deviating at all far from Ray Davies' magical prototype, Bennett imbues the song with all the emotion and joy which Davies himself buried beneath weary cynicism, while guitarist Top Topham lets rip with exactly the kind of guitar playing that ensured he remained a legend long after he left the Yardbirds!. "Act Nice and Gentle" opens side two of Bennett's third album -- perhaps deliberately, it is immediately followed by "Woman Without Love," a song which finds Bennett enacting an almost note-perfect Ray Davies impersonation, while strings and a superbly syrupy backing chorus build tear-blindingly up behind him.

Past Bennett albums showcased the performer. 12 Dbs showcases the artist. If 12 Dbs is Bennett's best-produced and certainly most adventurous album, although that's not to say it lacks any of the humor, spark, and verve which highlight its predecessors. "Slim's Blues" is a magnificent plod, the blues when they first wake up in the morning; "Vitamin Pills" is a 12-bar shuffle which disguises its utterly surreal lyric with an absolutely traditional soundtrack; and "That Mean Old Look" is a riotous talking blues, apologizing for a nightmarish night on the town with his girl

 So it's business as idiosyncratically usual, and the best track of all has not even been mentioned. "I Chose to Sing the Blues" is a Stones-ey R&B-flavored grind which outlines all the things he could have done, if he hadn't become a singer. Gambler, lover, president, or doctor, he threw them all away, and 12 Dbs proves he made the right choice.

The Vinyl

On initial inspection of the playing surface This looks Awesome. Still retaining its original deep glossy sheen from new. LOOKS SUPERB. It is hard to see a blemish! Any that could possibly be seen would be wispy sleeve removal marks in fact I struggle to see any at all. If you have not had the opportunity to listen to this awesome blues album, then I thoroughly recommend that you do, it is a stunning example of the British Blues revival that happened in the 60’s and 70’s. The vinyl looks Near Mint. 

The Audio Quality

 I have carefully played this through track for track as usual prior to listing and the audio is very clear and vibrant throughout  certainly no jumps, skips or significant clicks or pops CRYSTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT ON ALL FREQUENCIES, absolutely superb stereo separation, certainly not overplayed no signs at all of any distortion.  Unbelievable for an original, rarest 1st pressing that is over 40 years old. Please note there are many very quiet sections on this album please allow for some minor static ticks\crackle, I heard one minor pop on the intro to the 5th track side two, there are no marks on the vinyl here it could be ingrained dirt, but this in no way detracted from the quality in my opinion. The actual audio is clear and vibrant with, of course (no) signs of distortion or that this has been over played at all. I will grade the vinyl as Near Mint and EX+ and this is only due to the minor pop I mentioned. 

Due to the age of this album and allowing for the fact that it has only had a superficial clean please allow for  some very minor static ticks\crackle only heard during almost silent places on this vinyl.

The Labels

These are the original 1st issue 'Blue Horizon'  records labels!   (correct for this earliest pressing) They are in SUPERB condition.   There are just very minimal spider marks even when  angled to the light, spindle wear the hole is perfectly round and very tight around the spindle hole! (See Photos) Amazing Condition. Ex+ 

The Record Sleeve

This is the an original CBS marketing “Rock Buster Heavy On CBS” cover with no splits or tears just very minimal creasing and colour ageing, in superb condition at least Ex.

Insert

The album is complete with the, first press only, lyrics, tracks and performer details insert. The insert is in almost mint condition with no tears or writing and very minimal creasing / storage wear. Must grade as Ex+.

The Cover

This is the original 1st issue unlaminated UK issue very light and fragile cover, anyone who know,  this cover would appreciate at how hard it is to find a cover in this absolutely superb condition after over 40 years. This cover is exceptional indeed without any real creases to talk of any only the faintest amount of storage wear. No splits or tears and all text is legible this must grade at least excellent if not better in my opinion
