THIS IS AN EXCELLENT COPY OF AN ABSOLUTE CLASSIC FROM BRITIAN'S GREATEST FEMALE SINGER. THE ALBUM CONFIRMED DUSTY SPRINGFIELD'S REPUTATION AS THE FIRST WHITE SOUL SINGER OF HER GENERATION AND AS YOU CAN PROBABLY TELL FROM MY USERNAME I 'VE BEEN A LIFELONG FAN!!!!!

Sometimes memories distort or inflate the quality of recordings deemed legendary, but in the case of Dusty in Memphis, the years have only strengthened its reputation. The idea of taking England's reigning female soul queen to the home of the music she had mastered was an inspired one. The Jerry Wexler/Tom Dowd/Arif Mardin production and engineering team picked mostly perfect songs, and those that weren't so great were salvaged by Springfield's marvelous delivery and technique. This set has definitive numbers in "So Much Love," "Son of a Preacher Man," "Breakfast in Bed," "Just One Smile," "I Don't Want to Hear About It Anymore," and "Just a Little Lovin'"

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO marks or unwanted writing and moderate spindle traces evident when angled under a bright light
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces have their original DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN. There are some superficial light marks but NOTHING of any major audio consequence WHATSOEVER
VINYL Audio: The audio delivery is OUTSTANDING - CRYSTAL CLEAR, RICH, WARM SOUND. There are NO jumps, NO sticks, NO scratches and barely ANY clicks/pops (really, hardly ANY). The album plays BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT with SUPERB clarity and NO distortion or groove-wear. Must be graded EXCELLENT to (+) for audio and NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page)
SLEEVE: The 1st issue fully laminated sleeve is also in EXCELLENT condition with hardly any wear to the edges, a beautiful DEEP GLOSS to the laminate and a nice clean spine which displays ALL the text SHARP and CLEAR
