DUSTY SPRINGFIELD: 'Dusty in Memphis' LP

Atlantic SD-8214 LP, made in US, 1969. Album is play graded.

Record: VG, with a couple of very light scratches and some light scuffs/needle trails. No warps, skips or other defects. Labels are good with minimal spindle marks and writing on one side.
Cover: VG, with light ring/edge wear, worn corners, some staining on the back, minor damage and an old price tag on the front.

This is a copy of a 1969 Atlantic Records album by Dusty Springfield entitled 'Dusty in Memphis'. It's a classic album showcasing her flirtation with the 60's American soul sound associated with Memphis. The program has songs by major American songwriters (Goffin/King, Bacharach/David, et al) and includes the fine single "Son of a Preacher Man".     

This copy is an original 1969 Atlantic second pressing: red/green label with the 1841 Broadway address. Light noise in a few spots, but no major issues. Nowhere near collectible condition, but a good solid play copy for someone seeking an early pressing.

GRADING

M = MINT. Absolutely perfect in every way - never played. I rarely use this grade.

NM = NEAR MINT. A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. The LP jacket should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other signs of use. The same should be true of inserts, lyric sheets, posters, etc.

NM- = NEAR MINT MINUS. This is a grade of my own devising. The record will show signs that it was played, but rarely. Record surfaces may have very light needle trails or very light scuffs, but NO scratches or warps. The LP jacket may have very light wear, but NO cut-out holes, cut corners or saw cuts.

VG+ = VERY GOOD PLUS. The record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner(s) who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show slight signs of wear and may have slight warps, slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't significantly affect the listening experience. The LP jacket may have some signs of wear and may be marred by a cut-out hole/cut corner/saw cut..

VG = VERY GOOD. Many of the condition issues found on a VG+ record will be more pronounced on a VG record. Some surface noise will be evident upon playing. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to be felt with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. LP jackets may have writing, tape or stickers/labels/tags. Other signs of wear may also be evident.

VG- = VERY GOOD MINUS. Similar to a VG record, but with more obvious condition issues. Surface noise from light scratches or groove wear will be present, but the record will not have skips. LP jackets will have multiple signs of wear. Not collectible, but may serve as a play copy.
