Description:

 I have the pleasure of offering for sale on E-Bay the rare classical first issue of “Dvorak: Symphony No.5 in E minor, conducted by Istvan Kertesz”, issued on the very scarce and rare Decca SXL 2000 series Wideband Grooved Ed1 1st issue label.  This record comes from a family archive collection, which I am now putting up for sale, giving someone else the opportunity to purchase and own this rare classical record.

Record Sleeve:

The sleeve is in excellent condition showing little signs of wear for a fifties year old classical record. The laminated sleeve has been stored in a protective plastic record cover, maintaining its excellent condition while it was in storage for the last 20 years, the only minor flaw is an erased pencil notation mark on inside top of sleeve very minor. (See photos for information).  

Label:

The labels are in excellent condition with all Black and Silver printing labels showing little wear, all print readable with no writing or rubbing.  The record shows very little signs of spindle wear. (see photos for information)

Record:

Record condition report I have played the record twice both sides and it has excellent audio quality lies flat on the turntable, without any visible marks apparent to the naked eye.  The sound quality is excellent to my untrained hearing, though because the record has been stored for over 20 years it may require a professional cleaning.  There is a small amount of crackle in the quiet passages which indicates it may need a clean, because the record is unmarked in near mint condition.  Comes in its original Decca FFSS poly-lined inner protection sleeve, which is in excellent condition. I am not a professional record dealer just selling family owned records, and have tried to give a full and honest account of the records condition.  My grading of this record is near mint condition with excellent sound quality and audio experience. The record sleeve comes in excellent condition, and excellent condition grade for Decca labels. I will start this auction at £19.99, sold with no reserve and let the E-Bay market decide its value. The Record Grading

MINT:  The record itself is in brand new condition, I only grade sealed records in mint condition. The cover and any extra items are also unused in As NEW condition...

NEAR MINT:  A nearly perfect record, with only the slightest cosmetic flaw – no audible defect, Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.

EXCELLENT:  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.  The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional scratch.  Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached.
