Description

DVORAK / THE JANACEK QUARTET - " QUARTET IN F MAJOR / QUARTET IN D MINOR ", The Decca Record Company Ltd (SXL 6103) Stereo, 1964.

Very rare, 1964, English 1st pressing Decca LP with the "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY" label text on a grooved, wideband label and front laminated sleeve.

Pressed in England.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been retained and included in the auction - see photo).



CONDITION:

VINYL =  EXCELLENT  (No scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, only the lightest spindle trails, etc. In normal daylight the vinyl appears perfectly clean, under a bright grading lamp I can make out some paper scuffs - although these are purely visual and during playback, these very slight cosmetic flaws don't correspond directly to any audible defects.
On playback, there is some faint surface noise during the silent run-in (in the pressing) which disappears as soon as the music starts. It plays really well - strong, clean and without interuptions.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)


SLEEVE = EX-(No rips, tears, defacing, etc. Still flat and fairly clean but with light wear to the edges, plus some light creases and delamination just along the spine. The white back is very slightly discoloured and has a few small grubby spots - see photos for further clarification)
