Description
Dylan Thomas and the original New York cast narrate "Under Milk Wood", recorded at the premiere performance at the New York Poetry Centre on May 14th 1953. As the sleeve notes say, "it is the only recording... with Thomas in the cast, and it owes its existence to the chance thought someone had just before curtain time of setting up the little tape recorder that was at hand and laying a microphone on the floor at the centre of the stage. The later performances were not taped because a studio performance for Caedmon was planned, though Thomas did not live to do it. That this recording was not erased or lost or thrown away remains some kind of miracle." The vinyl of both discs is in very good condition with only the occasional pop and click as one might expect, certainly they form no more of a distraction than the odd coughs and splutters from the members of the audience! The sleeves are in excellent condition being bright, clean and firm and without creases, sticker residue or writing. The inner sleeves are poly-lined white generic.

For your information the gradings I use are as follows:-
Mint (M) - Brand New (Sealed)
Near mint (NM) - Looks almost unplayed * Cover almost brand new
Excellent (EX) - Maybe a light scuff but otherwise great condition * Cover will have some wear/slight crease/faint ring wear etc
Very good (VG) - Could have scuffing and some light scratches etc *Cover might have some creasing/fading/ring wear/marks or writing but still reasonable condition
Good (G) - Should play through ok but will have plenty of scratches etc * Cover could be ripped/stained/unglued etc
Fair - Very ordinary/ Might play but most likely just for the collection* Cover will be pretty terrible.
+, ++ or - (minus) after the grading denote variations within a grade.
