Banana Moon ist das Debüt-Soloalbum des australischen Singer/Songwriter/Gitarrist and Gong-Frontmann Daevid Allen, veröffentlicht im Juli 1971 auf dem französischen BYG Actuel Label.Die Musiker auf dem Album sind Allen's alter Soft Machine-Kollege Robert Wyatt (auch Matching Mole) am Schlagzeug und Archie Legget am Bass, sowie zahlreiche Gäste, wie Gary Wright (Spooky Tooth), Maggie Bell (Stone the Crows) und Gilli Smyth & Christian Tritsch von Gong. Gast-Schlagzeuger Pip Pyle sollte bald nach dieser Aufnahme selbst bei Gong die Trommel rühren.
Rare Erstpressung, erschienen nur in Frankreich (das Album wurde später mit anderem Cover als Gong-Album wiederveröffentlicht), mit eigens designtem laminiertem Klappcover und der Endlosrille am Ende von Seite 1, nach der Kakophonie des von Wyatt gesungenen White Neck Blooze!

Das Klappcover ist super erhalten - kaum Abnutzungserscheinungen, siehe Photos.
Die LP sieht auch top aus, keine Kratzer oder Wischer! Sie klingt teilweise etwas verzerrt, was aber der nicht ganz so dollen Pressungsqualität der alten BYG-Scheiben anzurechnen ist.

Banana Moon is the debut solo album by Australian singer/songwriter/guitarist and Gong leader Daevid Allen, released in July 1971 on the French BYG Actuel label.The album features Allen's former Soft Machine bandmate Robert Wyatt (also Matching Mole) on drums and Archie Legget on bass, along with numerous guests including Gary Wright from Spooky Tooth, Maggie Bell from Stone the Crows and Gilli Smyth & Christian Tritsch from Gong. Guest drummer Pip Pyle would go on to join Gong soon after this recording.
Rare first pressing only released in France (the album was later re-issued with different artwork as a Gong album) with unique artwork, laminated gatefold sleeve and the locked groove on side one following the ending cacophony of Wyatt-sung song White Neck Blooze!

The sleeve is in great condition - very little wear, see photos.
LP looks like top condition - no scratches or marks! It sounds distorted in parts, which, however is due to the sub-standard pressing quality of these old BYG LPs.
