MINTY CLEAN ... 2xLp in laminated gatefold...released only in France in the 70's and contains the old guard main members, Daevid Allen, Gille Smyth, Steve Hillage and the cast of GONG, in a thrilling theatrical space extravaganza ALIVE at the HIPPODROME in Paris... Well recorded and performed, this represents the classic Gong lineup pretty much at their peak. Many of the classic pieces from their early repertoire are here, The band obviously has a lot of fun, and the songs are performed well...This line-up of Gong plays material from the 4 albums "Camembert Electrique", "Flying Teapot", "Angel's Egg" and "You" and GONG really try to do their best with all the synth bleeps, spacy effects and all the ethereal harmony arrangements, plus the wild guitar solos -- the recordings are different from their studio albums, and that really excites prog/psych & Gong fans....and makes for an essential album for collectors of the band...here then, a minty clean original..not getting any easier to find as time marches on... - Daevid Allen / guitars, vocals- Didier Malherbe / saxes, flute, vocals
