For several years I have desired to express in some permanent form my devotion to the Lord and to His work. My hope is that somehow through these gospel songs you will comprehend the joy I feel in serving Jesus Christ. This recording has been made possible by the hundreds of people, both ministers and laymen, who have helped and encouraged me in my ministry. There is not room here to name all who have been of immeasurable assistance to me. However, I would like to specifically mention my parents, Reverend and Mrs. Vernon E. Wilson of Titusville, Florida,-who I feel are most directly responsible for the presentation of these selections. The righteous influence of my parents is still a guiding factor in my life each day. My father rocked me in his arms when I was a baby and prayed that God would make me a preacher. As a rebellious teen-age boy, I would awaken many nights and hear my mother praying, “God save Eddie. God save my boy!” To my mother and father I owe a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. To them I dedicate this album. “Born to Love the Lord” expresses the belief that I sin- cerely hold. I was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1940. Since my father is an ordained minister, I have been associated with gospel work all of my life. For many years I resisted the call of God. However, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1958, I surrendered fully to the Lord. One month later I was called into the ministry. Since June of 1958 I have traveled in several states preaching the gospel and singing the songs I love so much. Within this cover you will find selections of varied tempo and subject matter. The songs were chosen for their beauty and deep spiritual value. The fine background was provided by the staff of the Cathedral of Tomorrow, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Mr. Henry Slaughter arranged the songs and directed the recording.
