DAVE AND ANSEL COLLINS - ONE-SIDED ACETATE “Double Barrel” - 1971
This is a one-sided 7-inch 45 RPM mono acetate of the reggae hit “Double Barrel” recorded in Kingston, Jamaica in 1970 by Dave Barker and Ansel/Ansil/Ansell Collins. A #1 record in Jamaica and in the United Kingdom, it was subsequently released in the United States and hit #22 on the pop chart in 1971.
Label: white with the Sterling Sound Inc. logo - a New York mastering studio- and typed information.
Vinyl: VG+ with plenty of shine and a noticeable blue tint.
Sleeve: Generic heavy duty green sleeve with the original owner’s stamp.
Provenance: This copy originally belonged disc jockey Ken Rapoza who received it at a Boston area radio station in 1971. Ken died in a motorcycle accident in 1987.
It was inherited by a Massachusetts disc jockey and collector who had it for more than 35 years before his death in 2024.
