Original 1964 Dave Brubeck Quartet Jazz Impressions of Japan, Columbia CL 2212 White Lable Promo, prisitine white labels with black lettering stamped "RADIO STATION COPY - NOT FOR RESALE" featuring Paul Desmond (Alto Saxophone), Eugene Wright (Bass), Joe Morello (Drums), Dave Brubeck (Piano + Liner Notes) and Teo Macero (Producer)

CONDITION: Very exceptional copy, conservatively graded and based on listening to the record in preparation for this listing, using my Hitachi HT45 turntable with an Audio Technica DC30 cartridge tracking at about 1.5 grams. The record has occasional light surface noise that is most noticeable, of course, in the empty grooves between the tracks and in the quieter sections of pieces on this recording where instrumentation is, of course, fairly minimal. The vinyl has some light surface scratches and scuffs, but,  thank goodness, nothing serious enough to compromise its overall incredible audio performance. I have a hunch that it could play even better with a good cleaning, but I leave that to the winning bidder since I'm old school and use mild soap and water. I didn't want to take the chance that water might come into contact with these exceptionally clean labels. That'll happen once in a while. Back to the labels, there are a couple of stray spindle marks that can only be seen by tilting the record at an angle to the light. The record jacket, as stated previously, is in breathtakingly beautiful condition, with only a hint of ring wear, and that at the top of the front cover only. There is nothing to comment upon regarding the record sleeve's back cover except, GORGEOUS! Let's go around the horn on the jacket edges, beginning with the spine. Spine is completely intact and with all text legible. There is some edge wear on the jacket's bottom edge, but no seam splits. The upper edge shows very little to no wear. There are very small dings to each corner, with very minimal abrading revealing "raw" cardboard. Bottom line: FANTASTIC COPY. In truth, this is quite a nice copy, especially since what we have here is the confluence of an amazing copy and the amazing artistry of this particular The Dave Brubeck Quartet LP.
