Description

An original and very EARLY 1st press of Southern Scene on UK Fontana. Matrix 1/1. Tax Code "ET" correct for early 1960. Labels mention 1st published 1960. Everything is correct for absolute 1st press. The heavy Philips pressing comes housed in an original mono G&L cover. There's also the original inner sleeve too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb condition and hard to believe this copy is from 1960. Lovely clean surfaces with nothing worse than a couple of very fine marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. This lazy jazz style is very delicate and its easy for background to interfere. So, if you want a clean player you're going to have to have insist on an exceptional copy. I'm pleased to report that this example is off the scale for preservation. Plays clean throughout. I picked out the very odd occasional isolated static crackle - nothing remotely annoying. But I think anyone would have a pretty hard time just getting close to as clean a rendition as this 1960 copy can provide. 
Cover (Ex/Ex-) A bit of a stunner you don't tend to find covers from 1960 that have avoided the ageing process. There's zero evidence on the front and just the very finest evidence on the rear. It is overall - extremely impressive. All flipbacks are intact and secure. A couple of slight biro markings up in the extreme right and left non the rear. Four nice pointy corners. Hardly any edgewear and the spine 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) Minimal ageing. Bag present. No splits.
