Up for sale is this Rare Copy of the Dave Brubeck Quartet's album Time Out. This is the mono version on Columbia CL 1397 in VG+ condition. I have never graded an album mint and seldom can I bring myself to call one excellent because we all grade somehwat subjectively. I'd rather grade conservatively and have you happy than disagree on the grade and have a problem. That said this album really is EX- or for some perhaps VG++.
This LP is a DEMONSTRATION 1st pressing with a White label and 6 Eyes in a Red Background. It's also printed Not For Sale on both sides. In July of 2010 another copy the seller claimed as near mint went for $399.99!!! I have a worthpoint subscription and there is a screenshot below to show this fact. This album is the next level under that one but I'm still grading at EX- instead EX or NM but when you receive it you may feel it does meet EX standards but you won't feel it's less than one of these. This grade is visual and vinyl only. I'm not going to play grade because my Sony is down and my back up turn table isn't fit for this vinyl.
The cover is in VG to VG+ condition (grading is so subjective that again I try to be conservative) with some ring wear, bottom edge wear, a little discoloration and minor age spotting. There are also 2 corners that are dinged and they are starting an ever so small split that I've pictured. Graphic is still real nice on it. The inner sleeve has one small split and I'm not sure it's the original and if you'd like I can replace it with an anti static clear sleeve but you'll have to request I replace this one. Really This Is It, White label 6 eye Columbia Advance Promo of Dave Brubeck Quartet TIME OUT, COLUMBIA CL 1397 1st pressing of one of the greatest Jazz LPs of all time. This is the LP that defined the genre. From Take 5 to Blue Rondo Ala Turk the composition matched by virtuoso playing and production makes this a timeless recording for the ages. Here you have the original demonstration LP. White label, 6 red eye ....Just awesome for the collector.

Also in so far as smoking concerns go we can make no judgement. If the estate was obviously a smoking home we disclose it but we're immune to the smell of smoke so PLEASE keep that in mind while bidding.
