Hi. This will be a description you can trust. I'm not one of those morons who see a shiny record and call it Near Mint. This record has been carefully cleaned and play-graded. No guesswork was involved.
This listing is for "Before These Crowded Streets," by the Dave Matthews Band (RCA 07863 67660-1), a record that has been out of print on vinyl virtually since the year it was released.
The vinyl retains all of its original gloss and is beautiful. Both LPs have been cleaned using a VPI 16.5 and a Clearaudio Matrix, two extremely fine systems.
Sides C and D play as new with virtually no surface noise (I use a Clearaudio Concept turntable with a Grado Reference Master cartridge). They are quiet, flat and worry-free.
The original owner must have liked sides A and B a lot more. While they appear to be in the same superior condition as sides C and D -- as in they are glossy and perfectly flat -- sides A and B have surface noise that's evident in quiet passages. It's a completely normal amount of surface noise consistent with VG+ vinyl that was taken care of but played a lot.
So while sides C and D flirt with near mint, sides A and B are VG+. I went ahead and graded this as VG+ just to be on the safe side.
The jacket has no ringwear and no split seams. One of the inner sleeves has the first signs of a split seam, a worn spot maybe half an inch long, but is not split. One of the jacket's corners shows shelf wear. Overall it's a really nice jacket.
This will be shipped with the records in plain white sleeves so as to protect the original inner sleeves. It will be packaged way better than average, using enough packing material to justify the shipping price.
Shipping is to the USA and Canada only. Shipping to Canada will be more expensive.
