7 David Bowie LPs - Hunky Dory / Young Americans / Station To Station / Low / Heroes / Lodger / Scary Monsters. 

A big bunch of Bowie on vinyl - covering his most creative artistic period.  Naturally,the Berlin Trilogy is included and, for good measure, I've thrown in a very early copy of Hunky Dory - which, though battered, is my favourite version of this record. All the pressings date from the 70s or 80s - some first issues, some early reissues.  Condition varies - but all play well without any jumps or skips or ridiculous amounts of surface noise - IE - they are still very enjoyable.  I've gone into detail about each below and tried to describe them the best I can.  If you have any queries, please get in touch -

David Bowie - Station To Station LP APL1-1327
Garrodprint Sleeve with Orange RCA Labels.  Price Code ZZ.  With Inner.  1E A1Ak / 2E A1 VI matrices.

Sleeve - VG Being a white cover - wear is conspicuous and corner wear.   Some staining discoloration and ringwear.  Some creasing along the spine, but title still fine.  Inner VG+ has some creases and slight discoloration. A minor tear to the sleeve opening.

Record VG - VG+ - some light scratches and marks on first side.  Second side has some wear to the outer edge and there is some marks on the first two tracks..  Both sides have some clicking at the starts - in the case of side A it becomes barely audible before the bank kicks in.  On side 2 the click is audible from the start and continues through the song - but harder to detect once the song is at it's loudest - and is not too annoying.  The clicking dissapates during the second song -  Otherwise, the record sounds great -  particularly great if cranked up!  Light crackle in places.

Matrix Info - PL13254-A1 A1K /B2 A2E NO SENSE IS BETTER / THAN NONE AT ALL. Sterling Stamps GC (Greg Calibi)

Sleeve Condition - VG Looks very good still.  Only issue is with the discoloration and laminate in certain places (mainly along sleeve edges).  Inside of gatefold looks excellent, with some slight rubbing.  Inner VG - some musty marks and creasing -

Record Condition - VG+ Still quite shiny.  A few scratches and scuffs and pressing dimples.  Sonically, it plays very well, but with some surface noise - which you only really notice in the gaps between songs and very quite sections.  Some clicks here and there - but none go on for too long or is too loud. 

David Bowie - Young Americans - LP - Unlaminated Shorepak Sleeve.  HH Price Code.  Orange RCA Labels - A2E / B2E matrices.

Sleeve - VG+ - Some edgewear, sleeve rubbing and creases.  Some marks top front - but most of it not that noticeable unless you hold it up to the light.  Corners a bit bumped -particularly front left. Rubric on spine still legible though there is a crease running through it.  Overall, still solid and nice looking. 

Vinyl Condition - EX Some light marks.  Sounds absolutely fantastic, odd bit of crackle and the odd click here and there.

Matrix Info - BOW 2 - A-4 A2AT "I CAN'T THINK"
BOW 2. B-4 A3AAAAA "OF ANYTHING"

Sleeve - VG+ slight coloration, faint ringwear, some creases.. Spine is a bit worn, some of the text (though not the title) has rubbed off.  No spliting or tears. 

Record - EX - Very little in the way of marks.  Sounds and plays fantastic -particularly the first side.  Some light crackle on side 2 in the quietest sections, but probably just needs a clean. 

David Bowie - Heroes - (RCA International INTS 5066)
Early 80s Reissue in laminated sleeve with Green Labels. 

Sleeve - VG  some creases, rubbing, Spine bumped and creased but still legible. 
Record - VG+ - Some scuffs and light scratches - most only visible under strong light..A long scratch on first side - but it barely sounds above a slight crackle. The pressing is a bit noisy - there's some surface crackle in the quiet spots and on some tracks on the first side sound slightly distorted  Not a bad player at all - still very enjoyable with no serious problems.  Needs a thorough clean to get the best out of it.

Original Issue UK LP - Unlaminated Robert Stace Sleeve with Inner. 
Orange RCA Labels w/ Titanic Credits.  Both sides matrix 3T.  Bobil / Rasputin Cut. 

Sleeve Condition - VG Quite worn, sadly.  Lots of rubbing, with slight trace of ringwear.  Name affixed to front.  Spine creased but text still legible.  Top seam has come loose - but could easily be fixed.  Otherwise no tears or splits.   Inner has some marks and creasing - VG

Record Condition - VG.  Visually, probably below VG. Record has seen heavy play and has a lot of marks and scratches.  On play there is quite a lot of surface noise, some light clicking and slight distortion.  However - it still has something fantastic going on in the grooves.  The dynamics are unbelievable - the sonics have plenty of warmth and air.   It is the worst condition wise in the lot - but in terms of the mastering sounds best.

1980 Reissue with Green Labels.   JA TAPE INTS 5065 A-2U / INTS 5065 B-2U

Sleeve Condition - VG - Just about solid - although bottom seam is close to splitting.  Cornerwear, some fading along spine, creasing and marks. 

Record Condition - VG - Quite a lot of scratches and marks - including a localised bunch on side 1.  However, the record plays pretty well, a bit crackly and clicky in places, but never overpoweringly so.  The quiet side 2 doesn't suffer too badly at all.  Although the RCA Internationals are maligned quite often, this, to my ears has something the CD reissues lack. 

Who wants these?  If you want to get Bowie's output from 1975 to 1980, including The Berlin Trilogy on vinyl, you can do here it in one swoop.  Bear in mind that none of these are collectors' / dealers fodder - they are not mint by any means, but are very good listening copies, without any skips or jumps.  All have been play graded and I've tried to describe them as best as I can, so buy with a certain amount of confidence.  I will miss them!
