The songs are primarily led by orchestral brass and woodwind instruments, with lyrics ranging from lighthearted to dark themes such as childhood innocence, drug use, and totalitarianism. Despite positive reviews from music journalists, the album was a commercial failure due to a lack of promotion from Deram.
