David Bowie "Earthling" Vinyl LP  -  Pressed in the EU by BMG International 1997

As you may know, there was not going to be a vinyl release of the Earthling album -  however,  due to demand - the record company decided to run a limited quantity - pressed for collectors of Bowie's work on vinyl.

Trouble was, from what I've seen, the project from Pressing to Packaging to Shipping was not without it's problems -

To start with the Artwork is FANTASTIC in the larger LP format and is presented in a "Deluxe High Gloss" Gatefold Jacket

I bought several at the time of release and all of them had flaws that ranged from dings to jacket corners/small seam splits from the LP shifting around in the jacket during transport / to slight nicks in the vinyl caused during the pressing process - even the normal polished "sheen" you would expect from a new record wasn't there -

It was nice that they decided to make a vinyl release for all of us die-hard LP fans, but the release appeared to be less than perfect.

This LPs cover (as pictured) has slight bumps to the corners and seam splits at mid bottom and at right side gatefold - (yes - it even opens weirdly!) - but overall is "High Gloss - Shiny and New"

The vinyl simply looks "unfinished" - not "polished" - as though it has been played a bit or cleaned improperly - not only has it not been cleaned it has not been played!

I just want to make clear that this extremely rare LP is still overall in GREAT condition - and is in the condition - as purchased new - ten years ago.
