Description

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a literally brand-new mid 1970s copy of David Bowie's seminal fourth album 'Hunky Dory'. Note that this is NOT a first edition, but it is from the first few years of release, so retains the original catalogue number, sleeve layout, label design etc.
The album came in to my possession over 25 years ago as unsold shop stock. The RCA plain paper inner bag includes the 7-75 code so we can date this very specifically to the end of 1975.
The RECORD has no spindle wear and lays flat. There is a very light scuff on side two across 'Song for Bob Dylan' and 'Queen Bitch' - remember this is from an era when records were not 'virgin vinyl' '180g pressings' 'audiophile copies' - they were just what you bought to play music! Because of this I carefully played these tracks and the start of 'Bewlay Brothers' and can confirm there is no audio evidence at all of this light scuff. It also confirms that the album (should you play it) sounds absolutely brand new with no noise at all. Apart from this the record is unplayed but I have graded it as Near Mint in probably the most extreme case of undergrading ever! The matrix numbers are all hand etched and are A1 APRS-5947-4E on side 1 with A1V on the run out space; on side 2 they are APRS-5948-?E (very faint and I cannot properly decipher the figure before the E); also A4X on the run out space.
The SLEEVE is frankly perfect - and this is a fragile unlaminated 1970s sleeve. There is no spine creasing; no edge feathering; no thumb creases. You simply will not find better. It is printed by Robert Stace, and has the Gem logo but no 'Mainman'. It can only be graded as MINT.
The INSERT is clean and uncreased, minor bend to one top edge as stored in sleeve. The RCA plain white inner is mint.
The record will be incredibly well packed due to condition, the record will be placed in a poly lines sleeve and placed outside the record to ensure no seam splits, and will be posted in a maximum strength heavy card mailer with plenty of reinforcement. This will be sent signed for.
Please see the photos which form part of the description. I can't add any more photos to the main listing so please ask if you have any questions or want more detail.
Auction starts at £9.99 with no reserve and no 'Buy-it-now' because the value is what someone is willing to pay - no point looking at the book for this one. I want it to go to a good home where it will be cherished like I've cherished it. Good luck!
Thanks for looking!

Please let me know if there will be a delay in payment If there is no contact from you at all within 3 days I will assume you don't want the item and will follow the non-paying buyer process to recover my selling fees.
