This is a no-reserve 7 day auction for one of David Bowie's most sought after 1978 - 7"/45 Japanese vinyl singles//picture sleeves.
This single rates 4.52/5 on Discogs.
Soul Love was the second song on David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album and explored themes of love, loss, and religion.
The track was recorded in a single take at London’s Trident Studios on Friday 12 November 1971.
It was a productive day for Bowie and the Spiders, who also cut ‘Moonage Daydream’, ‘Lady Stardust’, and a re-recording of ‘The Supermen’ during the session.
RCA 7" single Soul Love b/w Blackout (Japan pressing catalogue SS-3166) complete with the official picture insert/lyrics and RCA record bag still in the original Japanese retailers vinyl sleeve. A rare and highly original combination.
The textured picture insert has liner notes in Japanese and lyrics to both tracks in English on the reverse.
From the factory pressed matrix numbers this appears to be the variant three pressing.

This much sought after original RCA Japan single has no visible signs of having been played, lustrous and both labels are clear and original, rating Mint.
The official picture insert is now over forty five years old, lightly textured manufacture and with only very light wear, one or two very superficial creases and two areas of original OBI glue residue, see the large photographs provided. Rated EX+
All in all a highly unusual find and an original and complete Bowie collectable, just as it was found at the Japanese retailer back in 1978.
